Welcome to retreat days 99-105 (June 22-28, 2020), the closing week of Marin Poetry Center’s online gift to writers sheltering-in-place. My week as guest host explores the HOW of what we do—our strengths, tendencies, gaps, and habits—so we can open to more possibilities and compositional choices. Poems, discussion, and prompts join with tools such as mapping and modeling as we explore the multifaceted work of writing poetry. I hope these tools will also prove useful in other genres and endeavors.
